LOS ANGELES — Honda Motor Co. is coping with a world wide laptop or computer network disruption that is forcing it to lower some output in North The united states.
The disruption could be section of a deliberate attack, the automaker’s U.S. revenue business, American Honda Motor Co., said Monday.
Honda did not offer you specifics on what output plants have lower output or what other operations may be influenced. The business is investigating the cause of the laptop or computer disruption and has not dominated out a cyberattack.
“On Sunday, June 7, Honda skilled a disruption in its laptop or computer network that has triggered a loss of connectivity, so impacting our organization operations. Our information know-how workforce is working immediately to evaluate the condition,” American Honda said in a statement.
British news outlet Sky Information has described that the laptop or computer complications also are impacting Honda’s networks in Japan and Europe.
It was unclear Monday whether or not Honda was the victim of ransomware, in which hackers crack into a corporation’s IT method and keep the business hostage until finally a ransom is paid out to allow for for operations to resume.
In 2017, Honda was strike by the world wide WannaCry ransomware attack that influenced output at a Japanese assembly plant, according to Reuters. That attack also influenced Renault and Nissan operations in Japan, Europe and India, Reuters said.
