Next-Generation Ford Ranger Shows Its Face With Hybrid Technology
Our photographers noticed two Ranger prototypes, equally carrying a round yellow sticker that normally signifies a plug-in hybrid drivetrain. Ford has earlier hinted that the upcoming-generation Ranger will be made available as an electrified design, very likely a PHEV. Rumors recommend Ford will pair its two.3-liter EcoBoost 4-cylinder to an electrical motor, making 362 horsepower and 501 lb-ft of torque.
There are currently no PHEV pickup trucks on the marketplace in the US, so the Ranger could offer a great center-ground for customers who aren’t prepared for a complete EV, like the F-one hundred fifty Lightning. Ultimately, an all-electrical Ranger will arrive on the marketplace, very likely carrying the Splash identify that was trademarked previously this year.
