Nissan commits to electric Formula E racing through 2026

LONDON — Nissan will continue to be in Formula E until eventually at least the conclude of 2026, the all-electric championship’s only Japanese company introduced on Wednesday.

Formula E is due to introduce its next generation of more potent and quicker cars for its ninth season beginning in 2022-23.

“We purpose to style and construct electric vehicles that rework the way communities link and move, and encourage us all to get the job done toward a sustainable modern society,” Nissan’s main working officer Ashwani Gupta stated in a assertion.

Nissan has stated it intends to electrify all of its new vehicle choices by the early 2030s.

Formula E started off its 2021 season with two races in Saudi Arabia at the conclude of February.

Renault entered the inaugural Formula E championship just before the crew were re-branded Nissan in 2018, with Swiss driver Sebastien Buemi finishing as runner-up that season.

Citroen’s DS manufacturer and India’s Mahindra have also committed until eventually 2026.
