The amount of community rapid electric powered auto chargers in the Uk grew 37 for each cent in 2021, according to new formal figures.
As of four January 2021, there were twenty,775 community EV chargers of all kinds in the Uk – up by a quarter in 2020 – of which 3,880 were rapid devices. In the fourth quarter of 2020 on your own, 1,288 chargers were set up, like 350 rapid devices.
On the other hand, the data introduced by the Department for Transportation in conjunction with Zap-Map also exposed an “uneven geographical distribution” of community EV chargers in the Uk. Across the complete of the Uk, there are 31 community chargers for each 100,000 people. Broken down by country, that is 31 for each 100,000 in England, 26 in Wales, forty in Scotland and just seventeen in Northern Eire.

The amount of community chargers in each individual area amplified in the fourth quarter of 2020, apart from for the north-east of England where the amount really went down by 3.four for each cent. The DfT described: “Owners and operators can choose to quickly or completely decommission or change devices, or they can be unavailable because of to faults, maintenance or other constraints in the region where they are found.”
Wales saw the largest share increase in chargers in Q4 2020 – up 19 for each cent – while London set up the most chargers with 500 new devices.
