GM issues second recall after repair software caused brake failures

DETROIT — Basic Motors issued a second recall Jan. 28 to repair issues triggered by software package intended to take care of a Dec. twelve callback for brake protection issues in some 2019 Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra and Cadillac CT6 vehicles.

The unique recall provided about 550,000 vehicles globally, out of which about 162,000 have been repaired with the flawed software package, GM spokesman Dan Flores instructed Automotive Information on Wednesday.

The initial software package error could disable the vehicle’s electronic balance command or the antilock braking method, and no error indicators would illuminate, in accordance to NHTSA paperwork. No mishaps or accidents have been reported in relation to the unique recall.

The new recall, at first reported by the Detroit Totally free Press on Jan. 29, will include things like 128,519 vehicles in the U.S., Flores claimed.
